People from all walks of life and all ages can fly gliders and learn to soar.
The Gliding Club at Gympie airfield has a 50 year history. The club has been using winch launching for 48 years but bought a Cessna tow aircraft 2 years ago for aero-tow launching. The winch is still used occasionally.
Gliding is not a team sport as such, but it is very much a team effort. Our club is not made up of users but rather we are all contributors / volunteers in helping reduce the cost of flying for each other by using whatever skills we have to help the club.
